From the moment I met Morgan and William, I could tell their story was one rooted in shared values, quiet strength, and a whole lot of heart. Their engagement session took place at Latimer Reservation in Spencer, Tennessee—a spot that holds deep meaning for them. Owned by the Boy Scouts of America, it’s more than just a scenic location; it’s a place where they’ve poured their time, energy, and passion into serving others. Naturally, it’s also the very place they’ll say “I do” this October.

We met up on a bright, sun-soaked afternoon—right in the middle of that classic Tennessee midday light. (Shoutout to William’s transition lenses for doing their job and doubling as stylish shades—it honestly added a cool, relaxed vibe to some of the photos.) The sun gave everything this warm, golden glow, and while photographers often run from harsh light, I loved the challenge of finding little pockets of shade and letting the light dance through the trees.
Latimer is beautiful. Wide open fields, wooded trails, stone cabins—every corner of it felt like an extension of their story. These two are just so natural together—that kind of comfort you only find in couples who genuinely like each other as much as they love each other.
One of my favorite moments came at the very end of the session. William had an idea to take a photo with one of the stones scattered on the trail to the main property—each engraved with one of the Boy Scout values. Without hesitation, he chose the one that read loyal. It felt like such a simple, powerful statement. That one word seemed to sum them up perfectly.
October 4th can’t get here soon enough—I already know their wedding day at Latimer is going to be something special.
Morgan and William, thank you for inviting me into this piece of your journey. You’re building something solid and beautiful, and I feel lucky to capture it.
